About
This game is my first Pico-8 game. It is also the first game I manage to finish after a few attempts with game engines such as Unity and Godot. It took me 1 month to complete the first published version. The Pico-8 restrictions allowed me to define a manageable scope for this game. In the end, I used all the available resources for the graphics (map size and spritesheet). The code barely fits the Pico-8 cartridge limitations.

Nice game, but i think the wall jump could be better

I really liked this game despite racking up 215 tries to finish it! That second room to feature the clingy walls, the spiky room with a laser and a white jewel where you have to slide down the wall over spikes to escape ate up most of my tries getting used to the mechanic. It left me with questions: What's with the ending with all the warping pads? How do I reveal what the other characters in the game are saying? What are the white jewels for? I think I got them all. Do I really have to escort that hidden-wall-revealing device to the end? When I lost it, it wasn't in the room when I spawned again. Any hints? Nice work though! :)
Okay, I clearly didn't get all the cards 13/20. And if I thought C-2 was hard, C-8 was monstrous! I can get around the room from the left and below, but still can't open the yellow door in that room to get out the top, or get the card, all due to the lasers. And, I can't unscramble what the others are saying, or open the red door at the end. Though I haven't been able to get the lantern, or anything else for that matter, to the end. But I've carried it around a lot! Wow this is tough!
Yeah C-2 is really hard! I could have handle better the difficulty ramp in that area.. Sorry about that.
C-8 is a bonus room, these are significantly harder :) I suggest you ignore the card and focus on reaching the next room first. Once you reach B8, you can focus on the card in C8 then (and you should respawn from the top).
The red cube is the ultimate challenge of the game. It’s like a permadeath mode.
For the npc dialogs, these are revealed by collecting the memory cards.

Cool game but it's very hard...I wonder how you activate the warp zone at the end of the game however.

Yeah the game is pretty hard. In the next version I’ll be moving the most challenging parts out of the main path so that it’s more fun and less punishing.
To teleport, you have to hold C. I’ll try to make that clearer in future versions!
